About
What is an APPG?
An All-Party Parliamentary Group is a politically neutral cross-party group of Parliamentarians concerned about a particular issue - in this case women’s rights.
Though they are run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, many APPGs choose to involve outside organisations for advice and administration.
The APPG on Women’s Rights had its inaugural meeting on May 14th 2025 and has a forward programme featuring many experts in the fight for women’s rights.
Guest speakers and invited external organisations can be seen in our calendar of events.

The Secretariat Services for the APPG on Women’s Rights are provided by the Women’s Rights Network. The Women’s Rights Network is a proudly non-partisan group campaigning for the sex-based rights of women and girls, with members across the United Kingdom. Their non-partisan approach means that they have members from all the political parties, making them the ideal secretariat for an All Party Parliamentary Group.
The APPG on Women’s Rights is committed to transparency and neutrality in the delivery of our work. We follow the Rules on All-Party Parliamentary Groups (available here) and will publish information about our Group on the Register of APPGs including our Income and Expenditure statement, and Minutes and Policy Briefs arising from our formal meetings.
Our APPG represents a range of perspectives and under no circumstance will we support, endorse, campaign on behalf of or lobby for one organisation. The APPG is committed to encouraging discussion, debate and learning around key questions for the future of women’s rights, in a manner that is constructive and respectful.

Our secretariat
We are fortunate to have the Women’s Rights Network providing our secretariat services. The WRN are a network of women from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland with one main focus: to defend the sex-based rights of women. They are not aligned to any political party and are women of all political persuasions and none. The WRN position is "Respect My Sex" – they support those who understand the rights and needs of women, regardless of party. The WRN is committed to free speech and to putting the sex based needs of women and girls first.
WRN has around 60 geographical groups and close to 4,000 members. Members are of all ages, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, employment status and socio-economic backgrounds. Regularly attending APPG meetings are Heather Binning, Founder and Director of the Women’s Rights Network and Jane Rogers, WRN member.
