Inaugural Meeting: 14.05.25

The All Party Parliamentary Group for Women’s Rights held its inaugural General Meeting on 14 May 2025. There were 15 attendees, including 9 MPs, 3 members of the House of Lords, 1 MP’s member of staff and 2 representatives from the Women’s Rights Network.

Rosie Duffield MP took the Chair, and was elected Chair of the Group. Other officers elected are Rebecca Paul MP, Baroness Sarah Ludford and Stephen Yemm MP, and the Women’s Rights Network was appointed Secretariat.

There was an excellent discussion on what the future programme should include with many suggestions from the group including women’s sports, the need for single sex spaces and the rolling out of the Supreme Court Ruling on the meaning of sex in the equality act.
